For the second year in a row, the UFC’s per-view schedule has begun with a January event titled Irish Superstar Connor McGregor. In the UFC 257’s lightweight main event, McGregor returns to Octagon to face Dustin Poirier during their 2014 clash rematch.
In their first meeting, McGregor took but two minutes to attain a TKO victory. That fight happened at featherweight, but Poirier has inherited his own as a Light-Weight, including a quick run as interim champion after a dominant convert Max Holloway. Poirier went 10-2 after losing to McGregor in the lone loss of Khabib Nurmagomedov, one of the most influential fighters in UNFC history.
